Prepare your red lentil turnovers at
Garam Masala with
ORGANIC red lentils .
Sprinkle it in your preparations, whether salty or sweet and you will get a pretty golden hue and a subtle fragrance.
Recipe for red lentil slippers flavored with Garam Masala ingredients: For the spicy paste:
1 cup + 2 tablespoons of white flour.
1 cup of whole wheat flour.
1 teaspoonful (5ml) of Garam Masala.
1/2 cup of vegetable margarine.
1 tablespoon of soy milk.
For garnish :
1 tablespoon of sunflower oil.
The seeds of 3 cardamom capsules (approximately 12mg).
A cup 2/3 full of red lentils.
1 potato, diced (200g).
1/4 cup peas.
1 teaspoon of Garam Masala.
1 chopped onion.
1 clove of garlic.
Preperation :- Mix the two flours with one tsp. to c. of Garam Masala, margarine, salt then add 2 cups of water.
- Cover the dough and put it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
- Meanwhile, heat the sunflower oil in a large saucepan. Sweat the onions, garlic and cardamom for 2min
- Add the lentils, diced potatoes and 1 cup + 1/3 cup water. Bring to a simmer, stirring occasionally, then simmer over low heat for 15 to 20 minutes: the lentils must be completely undone until a very thick preparation is obtained.
- Add the peas and cook for 5 min. Remove from the heat, add a tsp. to c. by Garam Masala.
- Preheat the oven to 200˚C.
- Divide the dough into 4 parts that you roll out on the previously floured work surface.
- Place a quarter of the preparation on one side of each of the dough pieces, then fold them to form the turnovers.
- Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and brush them with milk.
- Bake for 25 min. Leave to rest for 10 minutes in the oven off.
